After hitting a baseball through her neighbor's living room window, Cran the Cranberry and her Brother Cant apologize to Mrs. Smith. Soon, they notice their friend, Awk, sitting on the porch.  They invite Awk to play baseball with them, and start to teach him how to be a better player.  When they invite Awk to join their little league team, Cran, Cant, Awk and the rest of the team quickly learn about Sportsmanship.  In Merry the Cranberry and Sportsmanship, children are taught that sportsmanship is "our attitude toward all aspects of sports."  Children are also taught to "remember that the Golden Rule applies to sports."
